Areas of Activity

 

1. Management and supervision of MI GMU vessels

  • Providing technical support for the IMOR r/v research vessel, operated by the Maritime Institute, during surveys.
  • Supervision of small vessels, Imoros 2 and Imos 2, used for measurement work in shallow waters and confined water bodies.

 

2. Management of survey and measurement equipment

  • Comprehensive measurement equipment management, including servicing, inspections, repairs, maintenance, and modifications of measurement equipment and power tools in the MIC's electronics and mechanical workshop.
  • Management of dozens of different measurement devices that support the implementation of research tasks in demanding conditions.

We have a wide selection of equipment for measuring and survehying the marine environment, including dozens of specialized tools, such as:

  • multi-beam echosounders for detailed mapping of the seabed,
  • sonars used to map the seabed structure and detect underwater objects.
  • USBL (Ultra-Short Baseline) systems for precise positioning of underwater vehicles and devices,
  • tilmeters which help monitor the tilt and stability of vessels,
  • probes used to measure depth and other water parameters important in environmental analyses,
  • core-sampling equipment which allows taking samples of sediments from the seabed for geological and environmental analyses for the seabed structure and composition surveys,
  • WorkROV SAAB Cougar underwater vehicles which are one of the largest ROVs used in Poland, proved in complex underwater operations, such as inspections and data collection,
  • Falcon SAAB Sea Eye – smaller ROVs used for underwater monitoring and inspection areas with difficult access,
  • rosette sampler – a water sampling system with an assembly of 12 automatically-opening cylindrical bottles, used in physicochemical research,
  • buckets and dredges for collecting dredged material from the seabed; essential for geological and biological surveys,
  • CPT probe for assessing the geophysical parameters of the tested substrate, such as strength and stability.

 

3. MI GMU Equipment Rental

  • Comprehensive preparation of equipment for rental, acceptance of returned equipment, and management and settlement of rental orders.

 

4. Mobilisation and demobilisation of research and measurement equipment and vessels

  • Efficient preparation of research equipment and vessels for departure and their safe demobilsation after completion of research, taking into account specific project requirements.

 

5. Maintaining order and appropriate storage conditions

  • Ensuring appropriate storage conditions for equipment in the hall and in the high-bay warehouse at the Offshore Centre, ensuring long-term maintenance of equipment.

 

6. Support in oceanographic and hydrographic work

  • Support in conducting oceanographic and hydrographic measurements in marine waters, smaller water bodies, and watercourses, for the energy and maritime industries, as well as for scientific research.
