AquaGOOD Project

AquaGOOD – Diversification of Goods Sourced from Aquatic Ecosystems in Small Ports and Communities of the Southern Baltic

 

The Maritime Institute at the Gdynia Maritime University is participating as a partner in the international project AquaGOOD: Diversification of Goods Sourced from Aquatic Ecosystems in Small Ports and Communities of the Southern Baltic.

The project is implemented under the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021–2027 and is financed by the European Union.

 

 

Project Objective 

AquaGOOD aims to support local communities and small ports in the Southern Baltic by developing innovative, sustainable products based on aquatic ecosystem resources. The project will include the following activities: 

  • Research on seafood and thalassotherapy
  • Supporting local SMEs in adopting innovative technologies
  • Developing business models related to the blue economy
  • Promoting the sustainable use of ecosystem goods

 

Project Implementation Period

The project will be implemented from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027.

 

Project Partners

The project leader is the Administration of Lithuania Minor Protected Areas (Lithuania), and the partners are: 

  • Gdynia Maritime University (Poland)
  • Klaipeda University (Lithuania)
  • EUCC Baltic Office (Lithuania)
  • Ecopelag Economic Association (Sweden)
  • Ustka Seaport Authority (Poland)

 

Funding

The project is cofinanced by the European Union. The Gdynia Maritime University receives €207,600 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
